Nude woman's statue at Yakshi and Nandi Park, Kerala

This large cement sculpture named Yakshi, created by the famous sculptor Kanayi Kunhiraman, is situated at Malampuzha dam in Palakkad district of Kerala State, India. Malampuzha is a hydro-electric project built across Malampuzha River, a tributary of River Bharathapuzha in Kerala. It is also one of Kerala's major tourist attractions.

The sculptor Kanayi Kunhiraman, the first recipient of the prestigious Raja Ravi Varma Award (sculpture), is from Kanhangad in Kasaragod district of Kerala state, India.

Kunjiraman, who has produced many beautiful and exquisite sculptures, is one of the outstanding sculptors of Kerala. He has been instrumental in popularizing sculpture-related art form among the common people of Kerala.

His major creations are Yakshi at Malampuzha, Palakkad, Shanku at Veli Lake, Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), Landscaping of Veli Tourist Village, Thiruvananthapuram, Jalakanyaka (Mermaid) at Shankumugham Beach, Thiruvananthapuram, and Mother and Child at Payyambalam, Kannur, Mukkda Perumal at Kochi.
