Indian film actress and playback singer Mamta Mohandas, born on 14 November 1985 in Bahrain, attended the Indian School Bahrain till 2002 and studied for her Bachelor's degree at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore, India. Mohandas is trained in Karnatic and Hindustani music styles. S débuted in Malayalam film Mayookham (2005) directed by Hariharan and attracted the attention for her sensitive portrayal of Indira. Her breakthrough role was as Mammootty's sister in the hit film Bus Conductor (2006).
She has acted alongside Suresh Gopi in Malayalam films Adbutham (2006) and Lanka (2006) and alongside Jayaram in Madhuchandralekha (2006), and debuted in Tamil film industry starring in Sivappathigaram opposite Vishal Krishna. In 2007, she appeared in a supporting role in the film Yamadonga directed by SS Rajamouli. In 2008 she appeared in 7 films, mainly Telugu films.
In 2009 returned to Tamil and Malayalam films with the comedy film Guru En Aalu alongside Madhavan and the thriller film Passenger with Dileep and Sreenivasan. She is currently on working on two Malayalam language films, Musafir and Ragupati Raghava Raja Ram and the Telugu film Kedi.
