Mikie Hara (原 幹恵, Hara Mikie) who was born on July 3, 1987 is a Japanese gravure idol and actress who stars in “Cutie Honey the Live” in the lead role of “Honey Kisaragi/Cutie Honey”. According to Japanese company Oscar Promotion, Mikie Hara has appeared in many popular TV roles and has appeared in many DVD videos, several commercials and several photo-books or photo-albums. Cutie Honey the Live is her first leading role in a drama.
According to Wikipedia, gravure idols are Japanese female models who primarily pose in bikinis, leotards and other provocative clothing for photo spreads in magazines and photobooks aimed largely at men. In recent years, some popular idols have released DVDs of their work, typically posing in revealing outfits. Some of the fetish themes may include wrestling, martial arts, and superheroines from tokusatsu. Gravure idols range from as young as age 11 years, for example Saaya Irie who became a celebrity bikini model in 2005, to as old as 31 years, for example Hoshino Aki as of 2008. The term is derived from photogravure, or technically to be more precise, rotogravure, the type of printing process used in the production of glossy magazines.
