The fat question is...
The fat question is... well, the author of this interesting picture says, "Erica decides whether or not to make a third trip to the snack bar". It is in fact irresistible, to brush aside the snack bar by the pool side, especially after a session of swimming! You feel terribly hungry, and wash down your throat whatever fatty stuff is available. The net result is calories gained is much more than calories burnt!

Internet helped the growth of numerous model agencies, online retailers, e-magazines, calendar projects and other plus-size people related ventures. Print publications for plus-size consumers in North America are terribly in shortage, and it has stagnated the North American plus-model industry. With supply of models now much more than the demand, there is much scope for an all-round growth. So clients now struggling with low advertising budgets, and agencies are raising modeling standards. A substantial nudge is now required for the industry to experience a growth comparable to the growth of the past decade. American television program ‘America's Next Top Model’ has featured contestants and it is an acknowledgment of the plus-size industry's relevance to fashion.

You can see a very huge number of them in any modern city or in the country side. Fashion designers have understood the reality and they are looking more closely at the earning potential from plus-size clothing. This has given great modeling opportunities to many plus-size fashion models. Designers and clothing manufacturers have contracted many plus size models for their advertising campaigns and catwalks. For instance Jean-Paul Gaultier and John Galliano have used plus-size models for their Spring 2006 fashion shows in Paris. Italian plus-size fashion house Elena Mirò now regularly stages biannual prêt-à -porter shows during Fashion Week in Milan. Similarly, Mark Fast and William Tempest also have staged plus-size models during their London Fashion Week shows for Spring 2009.

The term BBW is now an acronym after the magazine 'Big Beautiful Woman’ was launched in 1979, one of the first publications in USA catering specifically to plus-size clothing consumers. Though it was wound up in 1995, the "BBW" brand was sold even thereafter. Now, BBW is an online community, mainly with archived material from the defunct magazine.

Plus size model Jordan Tesfay began her career after winning a MODE Magazine model search competition in 1999. She was the first plus-model since Emme (Melissa) Aronson who is acknowledged as the first plus-size model to achieve widespread recognition in the United States, and the first black plus-size model to appear in a nation-wide advertising campaign for CoverGirl cosmetics. She also appeared in a minor role in the direct-to-video release of ‘Carlito's Way: Rise to Power’, released in 2005.
