Chen Lili, Chinese transsexual actress, singer and model
Chen Lili (or Lili Chen), born in February 1980, is a Chinese transsexual singer, model and actress, who became widely known in 2004 when she competed in beauty pageants as a woman.
Chen Lili was born in a peasant family at Yilong County, Nanchong City of Sichuan Province of China. She underwent sex reassignment surgery in November 2003. It is believed that Chen Lili is the first transsexual woman to attempt to compete in the Miss Universe contest in 2004.
The Miss Universe-China committee initially announced that she would be allowed to participate, but later they reversed their decision on the ground that she was not a ‘natural female’. Though not allowed to compete, Chen was given the opportunity to perform at the event.
In late 2004, Chen competed in China's first Miss Artificial Beauty pageant and finished as the second runner up.
News reports are not clear as to whether Chen attempted to enter the contest, or she was rejected by the Miss World Pageant or the Miss Universe Pageant.
Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani
Iranian actress, musician and singer Golshifteh Farahani, 27, is a Crystal-Simorgh winning Iranian actress and pianist. Born in Tehran, she has acted in 20 films, many of which have received international awards. Golshifteh is highly involved in environmental activities and has also become the ambassador for fighting tuberculosis in Iran. She has also acted in the American film ‘Body of Lies’. She now lives in Paris, France with her husband Amin Mahdavi.
Since leaving Iran, Golshifteh continued her music career as well. She has teamed up with the exiled Iranian musician Mohsen Namjoo and their new album ‘Oy’ was released in October 2009. Since Golshifteh moved to Paris she has been working with directors Roland Joffe, Hiner Saleem and Marjan Satrapi. She has also been a member of the international jury at the 63rd Locarno Film Festival.

Velvet d'Amour is the stage name of the USA-born woman who became popular via the worldwide media coverage she received after her appearance as a plus-size model in Jean-Paul Gaultier's 2007 Spring/Summer prêt-à -porter collection shown in Paris in October 2006. She also made a catwalk appearance in John Galliano's prêt-à -porter show 'Everybody is Beautiful' in 2006.

American television actress Kaley Cuoco, 24, known for her role as Penny on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, was born in Camarillo, California. She is a pet-lover and owns many pets.
